How to Setup Samsung Galaxy S8 Active

After turning on your Galaxy S8 Active the first time, you may see a setup wizard to help you set up and how to use Samsung Galaxy S8 Active, follow this instruction manual:

  2. Follow the directions to capture your Iris image to begin the scan.
  3. Once the scan is complete, select the notifications that will display on the lock screen > Show content, hide content, or do not show notifications and tap DONE.
  4. Tap NEXT.
Setup Face recognition

  3. If the finger is not able to be detected, a pop up asking you to move your finger will appear, tap CONTINUE.
  4. Once the scan is complete, select the notifications that will display on the lock screen > Show content, hide content, or do not show notifications and tap DONE.
  5. Tap NEXT.
Set up PIN, pattern, or password
  1. Select the security feature you want to setup and follow the prompts to create and confirm.
  2. Once the security feature setup is complete, select the notifications that will display on the lock screen > Show content, hide content, or do not show notifications and tap DONE.

  4. Later to not setup the security feature
  5. On the Get your apps & data screen, select the device and apps you would like to restore content from, then tap NEXT.
Restoring will display while the device is updated.
  1. On the 'Samsung account' screen, choose one of the following options:
  2. If you have a Samsung account, tap Sign in to sign in to your account. Follow the prompts
  3. If you want to open a new Samsung account, tap Create new account and then follow the prompts.
  4. Tap Skip to log into or open a Samsung account later.
  5. On 'Copy content from old device', follow the prompts to complete the move of content using the Samsung adapter or tap LATER.
  6. On Easy mode, select ON or OFF, tap FINISH.
  7. On Device Data Collection, check or uncheck Allow diagnostics then tap NEXT.
  8. On Connection Assistant, tap Accept to allow or Decline to stop the collection.
  9. On Personalized Offers, Accept to allow or Decline to stop the offers.


When finished, your Samsung military phones will now open to Home screen. When the Smart Switch notification appears, tap Start to transfer content from an old device or Later to start the transfer at a different time. It is recommended to connect to a Wi-Fi network during the content transfer.
