Manual Galaxy S8 Open the Camera
Quickly to open Galaxy S8 camera by pressing the Power key twice.

Galaxy S8 Tutorial Take Pictures
Take pictures with your device’s front or rear camera. If you have an SD/Micro SD card Galaxy S8 has installed, pictures and videos are stored to the SD card. If no card is installed, pictures and videos are saved to your phone’s memory.

Bixby Vision
New Samsung inovations in the S8 it's called Bixby and it's Samsung's intelligent agent so let me just show you how it works in the camera to start when you've got the camera app open you can hit this Bixby button and then it'll go into bixby mode and it's going to auto-detect whatever it sees on the screen. Samsung Galaxy S8 Configure Shooting Mode
Several tips visual effects are available on this S8 features. Some Galaxy S8 shooting modes are not available when taking self-portraits.
- From a Home screen, swipe up to access Apps.
- Tap Camera, and swipe to the right for the Mode options. Each section indicates which camera (front or rear) the modes are available for.
- Auto: Allow the camera to evaluate the surroundings and determine the ideal mode for the picture.
- Pro: Manually adjust the ISO sensitivity, exposure value, white balance, and color tone while taking pictures.
- Panorama: Create a linear image by taking pictures in either a horizontal or vertical direction.
- Slow motion: Record videos at a high frame rate for viewing in slow motion. You can play a specific section of each video in slow motion after recording it.
- Hyperlapse: Create your own time lapse video by recording at various frame rates. The frame rate is automatically adjusted depending on the scene being recorded and the movement of the device.
- Food: Take pictures that emphasize the vivid colors of food.
- Selfie: Take selfie shots and apply various effects, such as an airbrushed effect.
- Wide selfie: Take wide-angle selfie shots to fit more people into your pictures.
- Selective focus: Change the focus of pictures after they have been taken. You can focus on subjects near to the camera, far away from the camera, or both.
- Virtual shot: Create multi-directional views of objects.
- Download: Download additional shooting modes from the Galaxy Apps store.

Camera Settings
You can adjust your camera’s settings using the icons on the main camera screen and the full camera settings menu.

- Tap Camera > Settings to configure settings for the Camera. Available options vary depending on the camera or recording mode used.
- Picture size: Select a resolution. Use higher resolution for higher quality. Higher resolution pictures take up more memory.
- Video size: Select a resolution. Use higher resolution for higher quality. Higher resolution videos take up more memory.
- Tracking AF: Focus on and track a subject selected on the preview screen.
- Shape correction: Correct distortion in pictures automatically.
- Timer: Take time-delayed pictures or videos.
- Picture size: Select a resolution. Use higher resolution for higher quality. Higher resolution pictures take up more memory.
- Video size: Select a resolution. Use higher resolution for higher quality. Higher resolution videos take up more memory
- Save pictures as previewed: Save the self‑portrait or self‑recording as viewed on the camera screen, not as flipped images.
- Tap screen: Tap the screen to take selfies.
- Show palm: Hold your hand out with your palm facing the camera to have your picture taken in a few seconds.
- Tap heart rate sensor: Once your face has been recognized, tap the heart rate sensor to take a selfie.

- Video stabilization: Activate anti-shake. Anti‑shake helps to keep the focus steady when the camera is moving.

- Review pictures: Set to show pictures after taking them.
- Quick launch: Open camera by pressing the Power key twice in quick succession.
- Storage location: Select the memory location for storage. This option only appears if an optional memory card (not included) is installed.
- Voice control: Take pictures by saying “Smile,” “Cheese,” “Capture,” or “Shoot,” or record videos by saying “Record video.”
- Floating Camera button: Add an extra camera button that you can move anywhere on the screen in Auto and Selfie modes.
- Volume key function: Use the Volume key as the camera key, the record key, a zoom key, or for system volume.
- Shutter sound: Play a tone when you take a picture.
- Reset settings: Reset the camera settings.
Taking photos or recording videos
- Tap the image on the preview screen where the camera should focus.

Galaxy S8 HDR (High Dynamic Range)
Use HDR mode to capture photos and videos with rich colours and reproduce details even in bright and dark areas.
- On the preview screen, tap repeatedly until you reach the desired option.
- HDR Auto: The device automatically activates HDR mode depending on the shooting conditions.
- HDR: HDR mode is activated.
- HDR Cross: HDR mode is deactivated.
- Tap to take a photo or tap to record a video.
You can lock the focus or exposure on a selected area to prevent the camera from automatically adjusting based on changes to the subjects or light sources.
- Tap and hold the area to focus, the AF/AE frame will appear on the area and the focus and exposure setting will be locked. The setting remains locked even after you take a photo.
Customising Galaxy S8 Shooting Modes
On the preview screen, swipe to the right to open the shooting modes list and select a mode.
